Dr Harriet Shah

Ms Harriet Shah is our specialist orthodontist. Harriet qualified from King’s College London in 2012 and upon graduation was awarded the Jack Wheatley Carlton Hunter prize for professionalism, kindness and humanity in the treatment of patients. Subsequently Harriet worked in Oxford where she completed her foundation training and won both The Graham Smart Memorial Prize for Best Clinical Case in the Thames Valley and Wessex Training Schemes and an award for The Best Clinical Case Presentation for Endodontic Treatment in the Oxfordshire scheme.

Harriet then spent time in general dental practice prior to starting as a Senior House Officer, in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at The Eastman Dental Institute, Great Ormond Street and University College Hospitals. It was during her time at Great Ormond Street, while working with cleft lip and palate patients, that Harriet found her passion for orthodontics. Harriet entered her second year of Core Dental Training at King’s College Hospital in the Department of Restorative Dentistry. After obtaining joint faculty membership with the Royal College of Surgeons of England, her specialist orthodontic training was completed at the prestigious UCL Eastman Dental Institute and Kettering General Hospital.

Harriet was awarded her Masters in Clinical Dentistry in 2019. Harriet also successfully obtained her Membership of Orthodontics Diploma with the Royal College of Surgeons of England and is a registered Specialist Orthodontist. Harriet maintains her membership with the British and European Orthodontic Societies and enjoys attending conferences, meetings, and courses to further her skills. Harriet enjoys working with both adults and children and always takes time to listen to patients’ goals and expectations, creating an environment where patients feel relaxed. Harriet provides conventional and ceramic fixed appliances, Invisalign, and in addition for children, interceptive orthodontics, functional and removable appliances. Harriet is trained to place mini-implants and is a specialist Invisalign provider.

Outside of dentistry Harriet enjoys spending time with her two children and husband.
